How Ventures Scale in the Studio

Shared systems, growth motions, and hard-won lessons behind every company we build and acquire, written down so no venture starts from zero. Every venture is built to one standard: be the best product and service in its space, the one nonprofits see the strongest ROI from and view as the leading provider.

The playbook

Seven Steps From Thesis to Ownership

Phase 01 · Pre-Launch

Validating the market, finding the leaders, and funding the vision.

Step 01

Validate the Idea

A problem surfaces from inside the portfolio or from a real client conversation. Before any leadership is onboarded, we test the thesis against the specific realities of the nonprofit sector and pressure-test product-market fit. Most ideas are killed here—which is exactly the point. You only step in when the path to revenue is clear.

Step 02

Match the Co-Founders

Only once the market is proven do we go looking for leadership. We match two co-founders with complementary skills, one technical and one business, and run the same rigorous diligence on them that we run on any major investment. We pair operators seamlessly across the U.S. and the Philippines to build a balanced, global DNA from day one.

Step 03

Capitalize the Company

The company is incorporated with its own cap table, backed by our ₱100M+ venture fund. For our 2027 cohort, we are targeting the launch of 5 to 12 new ventures, incubating each with roughly ₱15M in capital. Base salaries start from day one, providing roughly two years of runway. The founding team holds a combined 15% to 30% equity in total, ensuring you are building your own asset, not just working a job.

Phase 02 · Go-To-Market (The Engine)

Building the product, tapping the network, and deploying the sales engine.

Step 04

Build the Product & Service

With capital secured, the Technical Lead drives the architecture and the Business Lead shapes the offering. You aren’t building in a vacuum, you leverage our shared engineering resources, UX frameworks, and product playbooks to ship a working MVP fast. The goal is to get a working product in front of real customers to capture early, repeatable demand.

Step 05

Deploy the Sales & Marketing Engine

You don’t start from a blank page. The day you launch, you plug into our shared operating engine to build out your sales pipeline. We deploy an established inbound marketing strategy, sales enablement, and talent acquisition. Most importantly, you tap directly into our active network of over 500+ partners in the mission-driven sector, bypassing the “cold start” problem.

Phase 03 · Long-Term (Scale & Independence)

Reaching profitability and choosing your path to compound value.

Step 06

Reach Profitability

The goal isn’t to burn cash; the goal is a fundamentally sound business. You execute the playbook to reach sustainable profitability without relying on continuous outside investment.

Case study — Getting Attention. Built inside the studio in 2023. Eighteen months in, the venture is generating roughly $21K in MRR and ~40 inbound leads a month. It boasts an NPS above 9 and is entirely profitable — all run by a lean, four-person global team.

Step 07

Invest in Growth & Compound

Profitable and independent, the founders choose what happens next. Because we don’t have a rigid 10-year fund clock forcing a premature exit, you have ultimate optionality. You can reinvest profits to scale aggressively, take distributions from cash flow, position the company for a strategic sale, or simply keep compounding a healthy business for years. FFG founders often choose to just keep growing with us.
